Brittney Dias



Brittney Dias is an author, creator, and founder who is passionate about empowering the next generation. She founded Looking Lens in 2021 to connect Black & Brown children with positive and relevant stories that represent them. The Ava & Mae series began in 2021 and has since encouraged hundreds of kids to strive for their dreams.


Dias holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health- Global Health from the University of Washington. She is passionate about strategies that promote social justice and population wellness. Dias has experience in DE&I advising and Childhood Developmental Psychology research.

In her free time, Dias enjoys fresh air, concerts, museums, the movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Iman Purnell



Iman Purnell is a 20-year-old self-taught creative artist/illustrator who graduated from Oakwood University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.


As a child, Iman has always loved telling stories through her artwork and character design. She always found it both fun and exhilarating to create a diverse array of individuals from her imagination! Digital illustration and character design have become a part of her as she hopes to use her talents to reach as many people as she can to spread her ambition and passion!


Some hobbies of Iman's are sketching, learning the ukulele, watching anime, and listening to music.
